2014Glasgow 2014 - Opportunities for Renfrewshire   2014 Project Manager, Neil Devenny will be speaking about the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games - how is it progressing, how can Renfrewshire businesses get involved? Business Club Scotland will also be present to encourage companies to register for future event related opportunities.

Neil Devenny - Project Manager, Glasgow 2014 Ltd  text

In August 2009 Neil Devenny was recruited by the Glasgow 2014 Ltd Organising Committee to work within the Operations division to provide programme governance and integration across the operational areas of Venues, Sport, Technology, Games Services and Control & Accountability.   He is currently leading the Organising Committee workstreams of Transport, Security, and Environment and Sustainability ahead of the dedicated resources being recruited within the next 12 – 18 months.   The responsibilities and duties of the role will grow as the Operations team transforms from its current 4 employees to around 600 employees and 15,000 volunteers at games time.

Prior to this position Neil was the lead Project Manager on the Scottish Police Services Authority’s National Infrastructure project.  Within 2 years this project realised the vision of having a single infrastructure accessible to all police officers and staff which meets the business needs of shared services, operational efficiency, future flexibility and a reduction in operating costs.

Following graduation in 1995 he opted for a year out to realise an ambition to travel and work around the world.  Following this he joined Barclays Stockbrokers where over a nine year period he delivered: operational change, financial products, whitelabel websites, online stockbroking functionality and the operational elements of merger and acquisitions.

We will also be hearing from Isobel Millar, Area Manager for Skills Development Scotland and Joanne Gallagher representing Job Centre Plus, The topic will be ‘Working Together to Support the Skills Agenda in Renfrewshire’
