Chamber Members are invited to support final careers event of the school year at Castlehead High School. This event is for senior pupils and provides them with valuable interview experience, in addition to giving them the chance to reflect on their skills and abilities. The event is taking place in school on Thursday 6th June and will run between 10am and 1.15pm.
The event is split into two parts; group assessment and individual interviews. The ‘group assessment’ part involves pupils completing two challenges whilst working in a group. Employers would be allocated to groups and asked to observe and record pupil performance.
After a short break, with refreshments, the second part begins. This is the ‘individual interviews’ part and employers will be allocated to rooms where you would then meet with one pupil at a time in order to interview them. Interview slots are 20 minutes long and each employer would be asked to hold no more than 5 interviews. This duration allows a 10 to 15 minute interview and time for employers to provide summarised verbal feedback and have a short break whilst the pupils move to their next interview location. Interview questions would mostly be generic as many pupils are yet to decide on a career path.
In addition, the school are happy to offer business the opportunity to talk about their companies and what jobs/ routes/ advice into employment they provide.
