Member News 1st February 2019

Abbey Mill Business Centre is the largest business centre complex in West of Scotland, the locations include Anchor Mills in Paisley and the old HQ for The Locomotive Company in Springburn, Glasgow. The buildings have been carefully renovated by the owner, Marcus Dean who personally designs any bespoke office refurbishments. Mr Dean is an Architect and office space can be from 160 sq ft to 12,000 sq ft. A Virtual Mailbox service is now offered, specifically aimed at micro and small business owners giving them the option to lease a professional address for business correspondence.

Micro business owners need to keep cost down, but at the same time portray a professional image to their clients. This is when a virtual mailbox service can be of benefit, the cost is very affordable, the mailbox can be leased for minimum 3 months. Within the Abbey Mill complex meeting rooms can be hired by tenants and non-tenants. The spaces have a projector and white boards hosting up to 60 people in total. The on-site Café can also provide snacks and refreshments for meetings and workshops, creating a professional first impression.

The Mills are part of Paisley’s heritage, the oldest surviving mill is Old Embroidery Mill which was a shawl factory built in 1820s. Each Mill has a character of its own and they vary dramatically attracting a range of business types and industries. Tenants include: Chess Digital, We Buy Any Car, Risk Management Authority, Renfrewshire Leisure Heritage Centre and Coats plc still have office space in Mile End Mill.

Abbey Mill is one of the few business centres that has an on-site Café, private gymnasium, independent nursery and a museum. There are over 550 parking spaces available to tenants.
