iqaIQA Group Appoints New Managing Director

Wednesday 19th October 2011

IQA is delighted to announce the appointment of Gregory Addison-Smyth as Managing Director at the IQA Group with responsibility for the day to day running of the Company.

With the fast positive growth of the Company and the excellent opportunities we have, David Gowans will be focusing on the longer term strategic objectives and has taken up the post as Chairman of the IQA Group. In the near future he will be spending time on charity work abroad and will take a break in late November to concentrate on this.

Greg joins fellow directors David Gowans, Chris Fergus and David McKinlay on the board, and brings with him a wealth of experience in the utility market. With his proven track record, leadership style, and excellent experience, he will lead IQA to the next level and help us to achieve our ambitious goals.

IQA is also very pleased to advise that we have recently been presented with the “Excellence in Skills and Learning Award” at the Glasgow Business Awards 2011.  Competition was fierce as we were shortlisted against the likes of Dell, Clyde Union and Business Stream, following applications from hundreds of businesses.

The “Excellence in Skills and Learning Award” is recognition of the hard work and dedication of all the team at IQA, and in particular Davie McKinlay and Ashley Richardson who have invested a lot of time into our programme. Without the commitment of those undergoing training, preparation and the fantastic performance during assessment, we would not be where we are today. This is a tremendous accolade, demonstrating that working to the Company’s values of People and Continuous Improvement is the right thing to do.

Notes to Editor

IQA Group is an award winning specialist contractor operating in a niche market through distinct business units of Electrical Internal Mains, Cable Jointing, Building Maintenance and Civil Works.  Working on behalf of large companies such as ScottishPower, IQA Group has offices in Paisley, Armadale and Liverpool.

The Company’s rapid growth has continued as a result of its commitment to Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Integrity and People, and our employee numbers reached 250 in October 2011.

Earlier this year, IQA Group introduced its sister Company, Innovo Energy Ltd.  Innovo is a renewable energy business which will deliver sustainable and renewable energy to homes and premises across the UK.
