Cycle to Work Scheme - Thomsons Cycles

“Cycle to Work Scheme” is a term that’s being used more and more these days, but what does it actually mean? Well despite the obvious connotations it doesn’t mean you have to actually cycle to work to take advantage of the scheme but it would be beneficial.

Basically the Cycle to Work Scheme is a simple Salary Sacrifice arrangement that can be used to purchase a bike and safety equipment up to the value of £1000, in return for doing this the employee saves the Tax and NI whilst the employer also saves NI, can re claim the VAT and at the same time benefit from a happier and healthier work force.
