St. Vincent’s Hospice are appealing to the local community for volunteers who are able to give their spare time to assist at their Hospice shop on Neilston Road, Paisley.
As a specialist provider of care and support for people in Renfrewshire who have been affected by life-limiting conditions, St. Vincent’s is a charity at the heart of the community. In order to provide these services, they need to generate nearly £1.5 million each year, and the shops make up a vital and significant part of this.
These shops cannot run without volunteers.
Volunteer Services Manager at St. Vincent’s Hospice, Elaine Grealey, said: “Our shop at Neilston Road has successfully raised thousands and thousands of pounds towards vital patient care at our Hospice over the last 10 years. It also provides a fantastic shopping opportunity for clothing, household items, books, bric-a-brac and much more.
“This is thanks to our volunteers, and now we need more! If you can give just a few hours either during the week or on a Saturday, we want to hear from you. Volunteering isn’t just about coming in to work in the shop, you also get something out of it by knowing you are contributing to the community, learning new skills and meeting new people every day.
“We have a great team at Neilston Road, and we would love to hear from you if you think you could volunteer with us. Please, get in touch!”
