Renfrewshire International Trade Development Workshop

Date Posted: 4 Apr, 2024

Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce has launched a new International Trade project, funded by Renfrewshire Council’s allocation from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The purpose is to encourage Renfrewshire companies to explore opportunities for growth through exporting, either for the first time or by looking at new markets.

We will be offering a range of free support and consultancy services lasting up to 12 months, with additional substantial funding assistance for participation in trade missions and international exhibitions.

This project is aimed at SMEs in Renfrewshire across all sectors, with up to 250 employees. There is no lower limit.

Have you considered the potential for growth and increased profitability that can be achieved by exporting?

The Scottish business environment has changed in recent years due to the pressures of Covid, Brexit and high inflation, resulting in tighter margins and increased competition. Many companies are actively looking for new ways to generate new business and expand their customer base.

Renfrewshire has a wealth of resources of which we can be proud – Glasgow Airport, rail links to the South, the home of National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), engineering expertise, first class further educational facilities, and an excellent international reputation as part of the popular Scottish brand.

However, it can be daunting to take the first steps into exporting or into new markets, sometimes for financial reasons or due to lack of knowledge, expertise or simply confidence.

Are you aware of the opportunities that exist to take your products and services to new markets?

Do you know about the free professional services and financial support that are available to take your first steps in exporting, or to scale up?
