Purple Day 26th March ’26 – Light Up Purple in Support of Epilepsy Scotland Ltd
Date Posted: 17 Mar, 2026

Make a powerful difference this March. This March 26th, Epilepsy Scotland is working to turn Scotland purple with more participating organisations and buildings than ever before. Purple Day is a grassroots celebration aimed at raising worldwide awareness of epilepsy, a condition that affects over 65 million people globally.
Lighting prominent buildings and spaces in purple is one of the simplest yet most impactful ways to show visible support for over 80,000 people in Scotland living with epilepsy.
Purple lights spark conversations, raise awareness, and demonstrate your commitment for inclusion and wellbeing: your building becomes part of a nationwide moment that helps raise awareness, reduce stigma, and show families that they are seen and supported.
Across Scotland, civic landmarks, workplaces, hospitals, universities, and cultural venues will be taking part. If you would be able to join them, please do let us know so that we can ensure you are included on our supporter and promotion list!
Should purple lighting not be possible, there’s still the opportunity to demonstrate support in a variety of meaningful ways. Whether it is displaying information, holding a Purple Day Big Bake event to raise valuable funds for Epilepsy Scotland to support people in Scotland living with epilepsy, and their families, it will go a long way.
