Glasgow Airport preparing for bumper Easter Getaway
Date Posted: 1 Apr, 2026

Glasgow Airport is preparing for a busy Easter travel period, with nearly 250,000 passengers expected to pass through the terminal between 30 March and 19 April.
The airport is set for one of its strongest Easter seasons in recent years as families and holidaymakers head off for school breaks, city escapes and early‑spring sunshine.
Both domestic and international travel is expected to be popular with London Heathrow remaining Glasgow’s most popular destination during the Easter period.
Dublin and London Gatwick also feature among the top choices for passengers, alongside and recently launch London Stansted.
Amsterdam leads Glasgow’s overseas destinations, while sun‑seekers are set to travel in large numbers to Malaga, Alicante, Tenerife and Antalya as the airport’s most popular sunshine routes.
Glasgow Airport’s busiest day of the period is forecast to be 17 April, when more than 13,000 departing passengers are expected to travel.
Gavin Birch-Williams, Managing Director at Glasgow Airport, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming nearly 250,000 passengers over the Easter break as people take advantage of the school holidays and the start of the spring getaway season.
“The terminal will be busy and full of energy, and our teams are fully prepared to support passengers throughout their journey.
“To help ensure a smooth start to their trip, we encourage travellers to plan ahead, pre‑book parking, and make use of services such as Priority Security and the Upper Deck Lounge.”
Last year Glasgow Airport completed a £3.7m investment programme delivering new restaurants and retail units including Sandford’s American Diner and Primo Volo.
Families travelling with children are encouraged to take advantage of Glasgow Airport’s family‑friendly services and facilities, including baby‑changing areas, kids’ meal options, and pre‑order services for baby essentials such as milk and formula.
Passengers are reminded that the current UK security rules remain in place, meaning all liquids in hand luggage must still be within the 100ml limit.
