FOLLOWING another impressive year of growth in 2023 which saw The HR Practice, a Glasgow-based HR consultancy founded by Fiona McKee, hire two employees and secure transformative contracts with new clients such as Andrew Wright Windows, Base Metal Roofing, Nebu-Flow and Predatar, the business has now launched a new Advisory Board to help realise its ambitious growth plans for 2024.

The first members of the Advisory Board will be Lisa Thomson, Founder and Former CEO of Purpose HR (now AAB People), who recently founded Elevate Advisory which supports the growth of services businesses across the UK and Allan Dowie, Partner at Glasgow-headquartered investment firm N4 Partners,

The HR Practice’s Founder, Fiona McKee, will look to leverage the experience and specialist knowledge of the new Advisory Board as the business expands its offering of outsourced HR solutions to SMEs and entrepreneurs across the UK.

On the creation of The HR Practice’s new Advisory Board, Fiona McKee, commented: “This is a pivotal moment in the growth journey of The HR Practice. I am so proud of the progress we made as a business last year, despite the challenging market conditions, and I now feel we have strong foundations to significantly scale the business over the next year. With the addition of the Advisory Board, this will underpin our leading edge thinking to ensure that we continue to deliver our growth ambitions.

Being able to call upon the trusted counsel of both Allan and Lisa will be a massive support which I’m convinced will allow The HR Practice to become one of the leading HR consultancies in Scotland and throughout the UK.”

New Advisory Board member, Lisa Thomson, said: “I am so excited to be working with Fiona as she scales her business over the next year. Her dedication to clients and great HR practice shines through and I’m delighted to help support the growth and enhance the potential of the fantastic business and team she has built.”

Allan Dowie added: “Having known Fiona for a number of years, I have been hugely impressed by what she has established at The HR Practice. Now more than ever, the SME market needs to ensure that the HR agenda is at front of mind and as such, it is key that an HR provider understands the business challenges.”

Plans afoot for 2024 already include hiring another 2-3 full-time employees and expanding its outsourced HR solutions and on demand services across the SME market throughout Scotland and beyond.
