“The appointment of Andy Burnham as Prime Minister provides an opportunity for a fresh approach from the UK Government on a number of key issues impacting Scotland and the economy.

“Scottish businesses want to see competitiveness and economic growth at the heart of the new government’s agenda, with early action to drive investment, innovation, international trade and development of and access to skills.

“Our members across Scotland will be looking forward to hearing further details from Mr Burnham about his vision for the future of the country as soon as possible, including in relation to local devolution, our energy sector and the industries which can unlock economic growth if properly supported to do so.”
